About Us

The Full Story

Returning to society after being incarcerated can be a challenging experience. That's why we are committed to providing community resources to help returning citizens get back on their feet. From housing to job opportunities and transportation, we are here to support and empower those who need it most. Our love for habilitation runs deep, and we are dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. I have had a passion for rehabilitation for many years. We here at Peggy's Hands are committed to the change.

Mission, Vision, Values

Let's Dig into why Peggy's Hands is a wonderful place to be.

Mission

Vision

Our mission is to continue rehabilitation efforts for citizens returning to our communities from incarceration through housing, job security, transportation, and access to a variety of community resources. We are dedicated to helping decrease the recidivism rate in our communities, by providing key components that returning citizens need to start a new successful life. Through our efforts and community partnerships, these individuals will receive many benefits to create healthy and happy futures.

Our vision is to decrease recidivism rates and provide meaningful opportunities for returning citizens after incarceration . We envision a world where we no longer judge individuals based on their past, but provide opportunities to be valuable parts of our society. Through our efforts, we aim to operate transitional homes throughout the state of South Carolina. Each home will provide rehabilitation services, job opportunities, transportation, and other services over the course of a year. We here at Peggy’s Hands believe in change and we will grow and harvest these positive changes.

Core Values

Everyone in our organization- leaders, staff, volunteers, and community members share like-minded values, ambitions, and aspirations for change for a collective better tomorrow.

We root ourselves in shared humanity and treat each other with kindness and compassion. We are at our best when we honor the equal dignity and worth of all people, even in the face of conflict.

We foster a safe space that enhances the social, emotional, and physical well being of returning citizens and their families. While also making our community a safer place to live.

We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live their full potential, and that our communities and families are stronger when they are full of opportunities for people with diverse identities, backgrounds, abilities, and perspectives.
